Dear Sonnenröschen guests, here you will find information about many things that will interest you during your stay. What there is to discover. Where to go. What to do in an emergency. And much more...
If you not only want to hear about the longest glacier in the Alps or see it from a distance, but also touch it, then this tour is highly recommended: Fiesch - Fiescheralp - (Eggishorn) - Marjelensee - Aletschgletscher
If you are a car, you usually have to go through a hole. Here you will find information about Furka or Lötschberg.
In summer, when you can drive up the road up to Tschuggen, a free parking space is available, marked with the number 27 just below the chalet. Information for the winter about parking in Blatten can be found here.
If no other times are agreed, check-in is possible on the day of arrival from 16h and check-out on the day of departure until 10h.
Our chalet is used by various guests and everyone is happy when it is clean and works. And if something breaks - that can happen - then please let us know so that we can repair or replace it! Please send a message for this.
Please leave the chalet as you found it when you took over:
Next...
Unless otherwise agreed, the chalet must be left by 10 a.m. on the day of departure so that the cleaning team can start their work on time!

The hinged baby bed can be found in the children's room at the top of the wardrobe. There is also bed linen. In the children's room, in addition to the bunk bed, which is loved by children, also has many toys: Lego, Brio railway, highway, books...
If you want to cool off in the summer, the outdoor pool Brigerbad is recommended, about 15 minutes away from Brig in the direction of Visp. And if he wants to relax after the slopes in winter, he does it best in the Brigerbad, simply in the thermal bath inside.
And for children who want a rest of hiking on hot summer days, the Plantschteich down in Blatten is just right. You will find it right at the end of the parking lot, together with mini golf, climbing park, petting zoo...
Right down in Blatten there are two charging stations at the parking garage opposite the valley station and a charging parking lot at the Reka.
Down in Blatten there is the Comisso Lädeli. It offers everything it needs. Also fondue and fresh bread in winter and a cool white in summer. And he also has almost always open (information on this in the info corner in the kitchen). If you prefer to make a larger purchase, we recommend the Lidl in Brig-Glis. In winter, a small shop is operated on the Belalp at the Tyndallhütte, where you can take a small shopping with you right on your last descent.
You can use the basket next to the fireplace to get wood if you want to light a fire. The cage with firewood is outside to the right of the house. You will find the keys in the kitchen, on the wall to the right of the fuse box.
We have to buy and haul the wood, so we charge it separately. Please let us know how many baskets of firewood you have taken. Here we count on your honesty and your decency.

Luggage can be loaded at the cable car station by appointment. It is then transported to the chalet. The luggage transports must be reported no later than the day before 6 p.m. by the number 027 921 65 10!
With the SBB offer "door to door" your luggage is transported from home directly to your holiday home.
The guest card entitles you to various discounts or free benefits in the destination Blatten-Belalp and Brig-Aletsch-Goms. With the guest card, you can now benefit from a 50% discount on the normal fare on the single and return trips Blatten - Belalp (valid for summer and mid-season). All information about the guest card can be found on the Belalp website.
Summer evening after a nice hike on the terrace, with fresh bread and sausages. The barbeque is in the woodshed and would like to be cleaned back there afterwards. It is switched on and off by pressing and holding both buttons. En Guete!
We hope you enjoyed it in Tschuggen. We are happy to receive your feedback on our website or on Google and look forward to having you again soon. So you can also benefit from your input! We reward each entry with a voucher for the next stay at the Chalet Sonnenröschen.

Usually it has different spices in the kitchen, sometimes also powder for the dishwasher. However, this is not part of the guaranteed equipment. Please bring what you need. This also applies to toilet paper!
On the Belalp and down to Blatten it has great bike trails. And if necessary, you can rent the matching mountain bike in the valley station.

Highly recommended are two very special museums nearby...
And then a visit to the fashionable Stockalperpalast in Brig is always worth it, combined with a Gelato in the old town ;-)
We are not smokers and therefore smoking in the house is not allowed. However, if you want to enjoy the fresh alpine air outside with tobacco, the clouds are at most in front of the sun... But the stumps please in the waste!

In Blatten and on the Belalp it has various restaurants. Most also offer take-away in the current corona situation. Here is a selection...
The key safe next to the entrance door to the [apartment] can be opened on the day of arrival from check-in time and on the day of departure until the agreed check-out time with your personal code. We recommend to deposit the key there when leaving the house. So it doesn't get lost and you save the cost of the replacement. Your personal key code will be sent to you by email. Please call and briefly (+41 76 338 80 30) if there are any problems with it.
The Belalp is one of the few ski resorts in Switzerland that has been able to maintain its family character, although it extends up to over 3100m above sea sea peak into the Alpine peaks. It has many good restaurants in the ski area or you drive to the chalet for a break. Tschuggen is located directly on the valley run, from the top to the bottom it is about 12km. With the sled it is about 8km from the Belalp to Blatten.
Recommended is a dinner in a restaurant on the Belalp and then a moon descent with the sleigh directly to the chalet. But don't forget flashlight!

A unique Valais specialty are the hikes along ancient irrigation canals, sometimes in almost incredible places. One of them is "in front of the front door" and leads from Belalp to Nessel. You start right at the chalet on foot or by train to the Belalp, go in the direction of Foggenhorn to the mountain slope, along the Suone to Nessel and from there the lower path back again.
If you missed the last train or need a taxi, then try Jossen Taxi: +41 79 321 98 25
In the shed next to the chalet you will find a lot for the terrace and the key to it, in the kitchen on the wall to the right of the fuse box. And please put things away properly again. Thank you!
Here is an overview of your holiday resort.
Right on the street above the Chalet Sonnenröschen (No. 27, yellow marked) is the garbage disposal and there would also be visitor parking spaces.
The car parking space and access to the chalet are from the lower street.

The era of satellite TV is definitely over. Also in the Chalet Sonnenröschen you can watch Internet TV. A Teleboy account is set up for you. Of course, you can also use your own apps or accounts or stream directly via Apple device.
In the living area there is a radio with an iPhone adaptor and there are board games and books. And because of course there is always a lot of chatting in the Valais mountains, the equipment for it is installed right by the dining table... that gives the best fondue evenings!
Bed linen, terry towels and kitchen towels are ready for you. Please take off the bed linen on departure and deposit everything for the cleaning crew in the kitchen.
The sunflower does not have a washing machine. If washing is urgently needed, we recommend hand washing or textile cleaning in Visp. For stays of less than 15 days, it is possible to request replacement linen at an additional cost. Please contact us early if this is desired.
Free access to the Wifi “Chalet Sonnenroeschen” with password Foggenhoru or directly via the QR code.
